Procter and Gamble, ACE Soap Give 310 computers!

Procter and Gamble and ACE Soap – TIDE detergent in the U.S. – presented Maureen
Orth with 310 computers for the three schools supported by the Marina Orth Foundation
in Colombia.

At a lunch at the JW Marriot Hotel in Bogotá, Diana Sandoval ,External Relations
Manager of Procter and Gamble, presented the computers to Maureen Orth. Seven
children from the Marina Orth School in Medellin demonstrated their prowess in
English as well as their ability to take apart and put back together their own personal
One Laptop per Child computers. Two of the students, Daniel xxx age 7 and Paula xxx
age 13, both presented their original designs for video games.

Executive Director of Marina Orth Foundation, Luis Fernando Sánchez, quoted Mr.
Roberto Interiano member of the Board of One Laptop per Child Foundation, during
his visit to the Rural Educational Institucion Marina Orth on Wednesday March 2
of 2011, saying that the children at the Marina Orth Foundation are quite successful
in developing scratch applications and school projects using interactive media; high
demonstrative impact on the capabilities of children. Their good work and capabilities
can also be showcased by us, for example on our web site and also in the program that
we are developing with MTV/Nickelodeon.

Maureen Orth was interviewed by ten different media Colombian entities from print, tv
and radio. She characterized the donation as an example of a dynamic new philanthropy
in Colombia, based an public-private partnerships.
